La seva <strong>forma<\/strong>, com el seu <strong>nom<\/strong>, evoca el tros de <strong>fusta tallada<\/strong> que es crema a la <strong>xemeneia<\/strong>. No obstant aix\u00f2, no va ser fins al segle XIX quan va n\u00e9ixer aquest <strong>past\u00eds<\/strong>, i mentre la poblaci\u00f3 deixava progressivament d&#8217;<strong>escalfar-se amb llenya<\/strong>, aquesta nova pastisseria ens unia a una <strong>tradici\u00f3<\/strong> mil\u00b7len\u00e0ria: <strong>cremar un bonic tronc<\/strong> per <strong>Nadal<\/strong>. Aquesta tradici\u00f3 que celebra l&#8217;arribada del <strong>solstici d&#8217;hivern<\/strong> \u00e9s, per cert, \u00e0mpliament compartida per molts pobles. Per exemple, el \u00ab <strong>Caga Ti\u00f3<\/strong>\u00bb, a Catalunya i a l\u2019Arag\u00f3, \u00e9s un <strong>tronc decorat<\/strong> amb ulls, nas i boca i cobert amb una <em>barretina<\/em>. Se l\u2019alimenta i, <strong>el dia de Nadal<\/strong>, els nens el <strong>colpegen amb pals<\/strong> cantant amb l&#8217;esperan\u00e7a que defequi <strong>regals<\/strong> (generalment llaminadures).<\/p>\n<p>El <strong>past\u00eds<\/strong> s&#8217;elabora tradicionalment a partir d&#8217;un pa de pessic cobert de <strong>crema<\/strong> de mantega i decorat amb fulles de gr\u00e8vol.
